Crazy Egg vs FullStory
Feature checklists rarely decide anything. What decides it is the pricing metric, who has to write the tests, and which limitation you can live with.

Quote onlyWhat drives the bill
The metric that actually scales your invoice.
Tracked pageviews are the meter, and the entry plan's 5,000 a month is small enough that a modest marketing site outgrows it. Recording and heatmap-report counts are separate caps on the same plan.
Quote-based annual contracts priced by session volume. Among the more expensive tools in the category.

Strengths
- Heatmaps, recordings, surveys and A/B testing in one subscription rather than three.
- The A/B editor is usable by a marketer without an engineer, which is the whole point of buying it.
- Twenty years of the same product, which is unusual reassurance in this category.
- Retroactive analysis is a genuine capability difference, not a marketing angle.
- Excellent search: find the eleven sessions where a specific error occurred in checkout.
- Strong privacy controls with element-level exclusion rules.
Limitations
- Pageview-metered, and pageviews are the thing you least control — a good week of traffic is an overage.
- Session replay is shallower than FullStory or LogRocket: no console, no network, no error correlation.
- Web only. There is no mobile SDK.
- Expensive, with opaque quote-based pricing.
- Capturing everything raises data-governance questions that need answering up front.
- Meaningful learning curve to use the search language well.
