About us
An independent testing-tool directory, made in Germany
TestCritic is run by a small, independent company based in Germany. We review software testing and quality tools so teams can choose the right ones.
Why we built it
Most tool directories are feature lists sorted by who paid the most. The expensive surprises — a pricing metric that punishes your CI pipeline, a proxy architecture that breaks on your app, an acquisition that freezes the roadmap — only show up after the contract is signed.
We write those surprises down before you find them. Every entry names what a tool is good at, where it falls short, and what actually drives the bill.
German engineering, applied to reviews
The qualities people associate with German engineering are the ones a review needs: precision over hype, documented sources, and a preference for saying "it depends" with the conditions spelled out rather than declaring a winner.
Each entry links to the vendor pages it was checked against, carries the date it was last reviewed, and is corrected rather than defended when something changes.
Data protection by default
As a German company we operate under the GDPR (DSGVO) and German law. The site collects as little as it can: no account is needed, the stack finder stores nothing unless you save a result, and the forms keep only what they need to answer you.
How we are funded
Some outbound links earn a commission, and we may enter commercial partnerships with vendors we know and respect. Both are labelled wherever they appear. Neither changes an entry's limitations, its ordering, or the stack finder's results.
