What it is
Analyses maintainability, duplication, complexity and test coverage, expressing the result as a letter grade and an estimated remediation time. Code Climate has split in two: the Quality product was spun out to a new company, Qlty Software, built by the original founding team, while Code Climate itself now concentrates on software engineering intelligence. codeclimate.com/quality/pricing redirects to qlty.sh and the docs moved with it. Qlty keeps the familiar model but analyses through 70-plus embedded plugins across 40-plus languages. The Velocity engineering-metrics product was sunset.

Where it is strong
- Maintainability grading is easy to communicate to non-engineers.

Where it falls short
- Letter grades oversimplify and can drive the wrong behaviour.
- The Code Climate to Qlty transition means older documentation, URLs and integration guides still say Code Climate.
- Velocity, the companion engineering-metrics product, was sunset — do not buy expecting it.
