Usersnap vs Linear

Feature checklists rarely decide anything. What decides it is the pricing metric, who has to write the tests, and which limitation you can live with.

What drives the bill

The metric that actually scales your invoice.

Usersnap lists tier names (Starter, Growth, Professional, Premium, Enterprise) but no figures on its pricing page, and third-party trackers disagree sharply — get a quote rather than trusting a published number. Priced by projects and responses, so feedback-volume tiers matter more than seats.

Simple, transparent per-seat pricing with no app marketplace to inflate it. Business is $16 per user/month billed yearly; Enterprise is quote-based and annual only.

Adoption

Established

Usersnap · since 2013

Widely used

Linear · since 2019

Strengths

  • One widget covers bug reports, feature requests and satisfaction surveys.
  • Good technical metadata capture alongside qualitative feedback.
  • Routes cleanly into existing trackers.
  • Genuinely fast — the interaction latency is a feature, not marketing.
  • Opinionated defaults mean it stays usable without an administrator.
  • Excellent Git and Slack integration and a clean triage inbox.

Limitations

  • Doing two jobs means it is not the best at either.
  • Response-volume pricing can surprise on high-traffic sites.
  • Web only.
  • Deliberately inflexible; complex approval workflows and regulated processes do not fit.
  • Weaker for non-engineering functions than Jira.
  • No self-hosted option, which rules it out for some organisations.

Best for

Product teams wanting one channel for both defects and feedback.

Product and engineering teams that value speed and hate configuration.

All of these integrate with: GitHub, Slack, Zendesk, Intercom.
