Invicti vs Snyk

Feature checklists rarely decide anything. What decides it is the pricing metric, who has to write the tests, and which limitation you can live with.

What drives the bill

The metric that actually scales your invoice.

Enterprise licensing by number of target sites or applications.

Priced per contributing developer. Enterprise agreements add reporting and governance and get expensive.

Demo and trial on request.

Free plan with a monthly test allowance, generous enough for small projects.

Adoption

Established

Invicti Security · since 2009

Category standard

Snyk · since 2015

Strengths

  • Proof-based scanning eliminates most false-positive triage, which is the main cost of DAST.
  • Handles authenticated scanning of modern JavaScript applications well.
  • Good asset discovery for organisations that do not know all their own sites.
  • Reachability analysis dramatically cuts the noise from transitive dependency alerts.
  • Automated fix pull requests make remediation a merge rather than a project.
  • One vendor covers dependencies, code, containers and IaC.

Limitations

  • Expensive relative to free DAST alternatives.
  • Scans take time and are not suited to per-commit feedback.
  • Dynamic testing alone cannot find everything a code review would.
  • Per-developer pricing scales uncomfortably in large engineering organisations.
  • SAST is less deep than dedicated code-analysis vendors.
  • Still produces substantial alert volume on older codebases.

Best for

Organisations with many web applications and no capacity to triage scanner noise.

Engineering teams that want security findings arriving in the pull request with a fix attached.

All of these integrate with: Jira, GitHub, Jenkins.
