Feature checklists rarely decide anything. What decides it is the pricing metric, who has to write the tests, and which limitation you can live with.

Strengths
- Noticeably faster and lighter than Postman for everyday request work.
- Best-in-class GraphQL and gRPC ergonomics.
- Design-first OpenAPI workflow with linting built in.
- Catches breaking API changes at build time instead of in a shared staging environment.
- The can-i-deploy check is a genuinely good answer to microservice release coordination.
- Broad language support, so polyglot estates can adopt it uniformly.
Limitations
- A forced-account change in 2023 damaged trust; check the current model before standardising on it.
- Test scripting is less capable than Postman's.
- Smaller ecosystem of shared collections.
- Requires organisational buy-in from both consumer and provider teams; unilateral adoption achieves little.
- Real conceptual learning curve — most failed adoptions are misunderstandings, not tooling problems.
- Not a substitute for integration testing of behaviour, only of the contract.
Best for
Developers who mainly want a fast client with excellent GraphQL support.
Microservice organisations where teams deploy independently and integration environments are a bottleneck.
All of these integrate with: GitHub Actions.
